Realtime Fire VFX

I came across an Instagram post showing that highly stylized realtime VFX can be created directly in Blender, and it immediately caught my attention. After working with Houdini and its extremely precise simulations that can take hours to compute, I wanted to explore a more interactive and lightweight approach.

This project is an experiment in stylized realtime fire, with a focus on readability, motion, and artistic control rather than physical accuracy. The goal was to achieve a visually strong fire projectile effect with fast iteration, suitable for game VFX and realtime contexts, while keeping the workflow simple and responsive.

This work was created as a practice piece to shift from heavy offline simulations to efficient, artist driven realtime effects.

My Reddit post got some attention, thanks to everyone who helped: https://www.reddit.com/r/blender/comments/1qfalc8/blender_501_how_to_enable_node_previews_above/
